Professional Biography
Shane Bonebrake brings more than 30 years of experience across emergency medical services, fire service, law enforcement, emergency communications, and public safety leadership. His diverse career has provided him with a unique perspective on the challenges faced by today's public safety professionals and the importance of strong, coordinated emergency response.
Shane began his public safety career with the United States Army, serving for eight years as a Flight Medic and as a veteran of Desert Storm. He went on to build extensive experience in emergency medical services, serving for 20 years as a Firefighter/Paramedic and 14 years as a LifeFlight Paramedic. He also served for eight years as a Chief International Flight Medic.
In addition to his medical and aviation experience, Shane served for 13 years as a Police Motor Officer and Fatality Reconstruction specialist. His experience in law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire service, and aviation has given him a broad understanding of public safety operations and the importance of effective communication among responding agencies.
Shane has also served eight years as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher, giving him firsthand experience within the emergency communications profession. For the past six years, he has served as the Director of Cherokee County E-911, where he provides leadership for the county's emergency communications operations.
As the Northwest Regional Representative on the Georgia 9-1-1 Directors Association Board, Shane is committed to representing the needs and perspectives of communications centers throughout Northwest Georgia, strengthening collaboration among public safety leaders, and supporting the continued advancement of emergency communications across the state.
