Professional Biography
Mrs. Bonnie Slaney has more than 27 years of experience in public safety and criminal justice, including over 16 years in leadership and management. She currently serves as the E911 Director for the Madison County Sheriff's Office E911 Center, where she oversees the daily operations of the communications center, manages personnel, and maintains the technology that supports emergency communications. The center serves Madison County by answering and dispatching 9-1-1 calls for law enforcement, fire, and EMS, while also managing the county's 9-1-1 addressing program.
Prior to her current role, Bonnie served with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) in the Investigative Division at the Athens Regional Investigative Office before joining the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC). During her time with GCIC, she worked in both the Criminal Justice and Non-Criminal Justice CJIS Compliance Units, providing expertise in criminal justice information systems and regulatory compliance. Earlier in her career, she served as Executive Assistant for the Western Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office and as a Georgia POST-certified Communications Officer with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
Bonnie is a certified Georgia P.O.S.T. Instructor and has been a frequent presenter at professional conferences, including the Georgia Municipal Clerks Association and the GCIC CJIS Training Symposium since 2016. She has also provided training to agencies throughout Georgia on the rules and regulations governing the National Data Exchange (N-DEx), a program within the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Data Sharing Services Unit.
Bonnie and her husband, Greg, live in Hull, Georgia, with their son. She is an active member of the Madison County Pilot Club, a community-based volunteer service organization.
