Professional Biography
Laloni G. Smith has worked in public safety communications since 2006 and currently serves as Director of Griffin-Spalding County 911 Emergency Communications. She began her career with Henry County E911, where she spent 13 years before joining the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC). During her six years with GPSTC's Georgia Communications Program, she also supported the Georgia 9-1-1 Directors Academy and provided training and professional development to public safety communications professionals across the state.
Laloni joined Spalding County E911 in December 2024 as Deputy Director, later serving as Interim Director before becoming Director in 2026. Her experience includes emergency communications leadership, professional development, training, and supporting the continued advancement of Georgia's 9-1-1 community.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Behavioral Sciences and is a Georgia P.O.S.T. Master Training Instructor and Master Resiliency Instructor. Laloni also serves as the Georgia NENA Region 1 Director and participates on committees supporting the Georgia Emergency Communications Conference.
As the Southwest Regional Representative on the Georgia 9-1-1 Directors Association Board, Laloni is committed to representing the needs and perspectives of communications centers throughout Southwest Georgia, strengthening collaboration among 9-1-1 leaders, and supporting professional development and the continued advancement of emergency communications across the state.
